Hope & Empowerment With Hyperthermia Cancer Center
At the Hyperthermia Cancer Institute, we are committed to helping you heal. In a serene, spa-like setting, we administer non-invasive hyperthermia therapy at our cancer center in Los Angeles with FDA-approved advanced ultrasound technology. Hyperthermia's targeted heat statistically increases the success rate of radiation therapy and chemotherapy, and has virtually no side effects. For some, hyperthermia can even stimulate an immune response, giving the body another tool to fight against cancer.
The Versatility of HyperthermiaCombination Hyperthermia
For over four decades, hyperthermia’s ultrasonic heat technology has amplified the potency of radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. In fact, consistently good success rates have led to a significant increase in the use of combination hyperthermia treatment over the past few years.
The Versatility of HyperthermiaSolo
While typically used in conjunction with other cancer treatments, stand-alone hyperthermia treatment can also be effective. Because hyperthermia has no known adverse effects on healthy tissue, solo hyperthermia is often recommended for patients who can’t or don’t wish to undergo another round of chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
The Versatility of HyperthermiaDiagnosis & Early
Decades of research prove that patients who include hyperthermia early in their cancer treatment plan saw higher rates of a complete response. In other words, the sooner a patient adds hyperthermia to their chemotherapy or radiation therapy, the higher their chances of having tumors completely destroyed.
Hyperthermia is effective with treating most cancers
The addition of hyperthermia improves the likelihood of a complete response to breast cancer treatment more than radiation therapy alone.
When combined with radiation therapy, hyperthermia increases the likelihood of a complete response in cervical cancers by nearly 50%.
Colon & Rectal Cancer
Overall survival rate at 5 years post-treatment of rectal cancer increased with the addition of hyperthermia.
Head & Neck Cancer
Hyperthermia when combined with radiation therapy, increases the likelihood of a complete response in head and neck cancers.
Hyperthermia increases the likelihood of a complete response in melanoma cancers by upwards of 50% when combined with radiation therapy.

The blessing of this therapy cannot be overstated.
The team at HCI is outstanding. They treated us with so much care and respect! The technology helped my wife tremendously and the treatment is relatively comfortable compared to many cancer therapies. We highly recommend. Oh, and it is in one of the most beautiful places on the planet!
I am so happy to have come to HCI.
I went to Hyperthermia cancer institute 5-6 days a week for 4 weeks. On my birthday, I received a call from my oncologist and they could not find a trace of tumor in the MRI. The tumor went to a zero! It is a complete success.
My tumors have shown significant reduction since starting treatment at HCI.
Dr. Pinzone, Matt Reed and the whole team are fantastic and truly care about their patients. I highly recommend!
The team at HCI is thoughtful and caring.
My mom received hyperthermia here in conjunction with five rounds of chemotherapy for her stage four lung cancer. She saw a reduction in tumor burden by over 50% and her cancer stabilized. I recommend hyperthermia for all cancer patients undergoing chemo or radiation.
What is hyperthermia therapy?
Hyperthermia therapy uses targeted ultrasound technology to heat tumors. This heat amplifies the power of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and can weaken and even destroy cancerous cells when used alone.
Does insurance cover hyperthermia treatment?
Our patient care team works with your insurance company so you don’t have to. They’ll let you know what coverage exists and, when applicable, copay details.
Does hyperthermia have side effects?
Most patients do not experience side effects from hyperthermia treatment. For those who do, they are mild. In over 35 years of clinical use and research, hyperthermia therapy has not shown a negative impact on healthy cells.
Where does treatment take place?
HCI patients undergo treatment in our spa-like clinic in Santa Monica, California. Our care team can assist with travel and lodging for traveling patients.
