Most major cancer treatments like chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery also risk harming healthy tissues and weakening the patient overall. However, hyperthermia therapy has not shown any adverse effects on healthy tissue in over 35 years of clinical use. This means hyperthermia can safely be paired with other cancer treatments without further risk to the patient.

Adding hyperthermia therapy to cancer treatment will not impact healthy cells.

Innumerable studies on hyperthermia have consistently shown it to be safe and well-tolerated by the majority of cancer patients. Here at HCI, we offer non-invasive hyperthermia therapy. This type of hyperthermia treatment uses ultrasonic energy to increase the temperature of tumors, causing them to weaken and die while healthy cells are left intact.

Nap, read a book, or watch TV during Gentle hyperthermia sessions.

Patients can expect to handle hyperthermia treatment well, and the majority do not experience side effects. Those who do find their side effects to be mild. The caring team at HCI strives to make our patients as comfortable as possible; to that end, our treatment rooms are designed to be serene and relaxing environments.

Advanced heat technology only focuses on cancerous cells.

HCI uses a sophisticated ultrasound system called the Sonotherm 1000 that targets tumors directly. Our skilled staff carefully calibrates the temperature and depth of ultrasonic penetration to ensure patient comfort and treatment efficacy. The ultrasonic energy destroys cancer cells up to 10cm below the natural layer of fat.

Sessions last from 45 minutes to an hour, during which tumors are slowly heated to 109°F (43°C). Hyperthermia treatment happens in a series of treatments, the number of which is determined by our medical director and the patient’s oncology team. Most patients undergo the same amount of hyperthermia sessions as they do for radiation or chemotherapy.

Hyperthermia boosts the ability of the immune system to fight cancer.

It’s been established that hyperthermia will not harm patients in any way. Studies are increasingly showing that aside from weakening and killing cancer cells, hyperthermia actually stimulates the body’s immune system against tumors. The heat used in the treatment increases the ability of T cells to identify and attack cancerous cells. Hyperthermia also prevents cancer cells from self-repairing by irreparably damaging their DNA structure.

Early Hyperthermia Treatment Improves Success Rates Across Cancers.

Another benefit of hyperthermia treatment is that it can be utilized to treat a wide range of cancers, including those on the list below. If you don’t see your cancer here or you have an aggressive form, we may still be able to help. Please contact us so we can learn more about your needs.

Hyperthermia therapy is FDA-approved, non-invasive, and safe.

Our team at HCI understands how stressful and scary cancer treatment can be. We strive to make each patient feel cared for and comfortable. Patient education is prioritized after health and safety, and we patiently provide the information our patients need to make confident decisions about their care.

HCI uses hyperthermia therapy to improve the quality of life of those with cancer, as well as extend the lengths of their lives by improving the chances of complete tumor eradication. We believe a sense of hope and the support of community are invaluable components of a successful recovery. To find out how we may be able to help you, contact us today.
